Event round-up: Home Office Data Services and Analytics Market Engagement Briefing
On the 5 January 2022 from 10:00 - 12:30 we were delighted to host the Home Office Data Services and Analytics (DSA) team for an industry briefing on the DSA portfolio and their upcoming procurement. The use of Data Services and Analytics is a portfolio of work within the Home Office Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) department which delivers data services and leads the use of data within the Home Office particularly in relation to Border and Immigration services. The strategic vision is to provide shareable data services which:
- Provides a platform for consolidated data and related shared services that secure, transform, persist, access and manage Person, Object, Location and Event (POLE) data
- Delivers the system of record for Home Office data which enables automated digital checks on status
- Integrates data in a system of insight that delivers leading analytics services
The Home Office Data Services and Analytics (DSA) department also intends to run two separate Further Competitions to place contracts for C21479 – Data Platform Services and C22147 Data Engineering Services that are described below:
C21479 – Data Platform Services – RM6100 Lot 3d
Data Platform Services (DPS) is a fully integrated service that provides level 2 and 3 product and data platform and pipeline support, DevOps, DataOps, DBA and core engineering services for DSA services Home Office and Other Government Department customers.
C22147 Data Engineering Support Services RM6100 Lot 2
The Data Engineering function in DSA is morphing from one with a traditional strong ETL focus to a broader set of skills within a multi-disciplinary team space including, dev-ops, QA, data analysis (mapping and modelling), ETL pipeline build, Python and Java code development and working closely with product teams to create bespoke components in the cloud.
The event provided industry with early visibility of these key services, an introduction to the individual services requirements, and an outline of the procurement process.
