DHLUC Future Councils pilot programme announcement
techUK is delighted to welcome the announcement from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, regarding the pilot programme “Future Councils”, which supports the modernisation of UK’s local authorities through digital and tech progress. The 8 local authorities that will receive funding through this programme are: Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council, Cornwall Council, Dorset Council, Leicester City Council, London, Borough of Lewisham, Reading Borough Council, South Tyneside Council, Stevenage Borough Council.
The successful applications were characterised by strong focus on adult social care, robotic processing automation, cloud-based solutions, and building capacity.

On 30 March we will host an online event with the Local Digital team from DHLUC on cyber and digital. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the Future Councils pilot as we will be joined by Gemma Matthews, Product Manager for Future Councils and Rachel Downs, senior lead on cyber security.
It is an opportunity for tech suppliers active or looking to break into the local government market to better understand who the Local Digital team is, the key workstreams and priorities. Attend to gain visibility of what’s coming next and meet the Local Digital team.
