Director & Co-owner, Bid Craft

Eve Upton

Eve Upton

Director & Co-owner, Bid Craft

Working as a bar manager I fell into the tech industry with a rash application to the EDS grad scheme. Since then I’ve lived technology, from account and bid leadership roles in EDS/HPE, to now as an owner of BidCraft, helping companies win government work. I like this sector, so I want to make it thrive.

We work with many techUK members, largest to small, and I’m determined to make procurement and investment fairer (and easier!) to enable UK growth. I’d say “I’m passionate” about this, but what I mean is I see the pain every day and it frustrates me to the point of wanting to fix it.

I’ve been a director of a not-for-profit bidding association (APMP) for 6yrs, so I know how to work for a diverse membership. I also know what it takes to make things happen on a volunteer board...

I’m determined to make change.

Matt Fletcher

Matt Fletcher

CEO, Co-founder, Fivium

I began my career as a software engineer, working closely with public sector organisations and seeing first-hand both the potential and the frustrations of technology in that environment. Too often, systems were complex, expensive, and delivered little real value to the people relying on them.

Twenty years ago, I co-founded Fivium to change that. The aim was simple: to make public sector technology work better for the organisations using it and for the people they serve. I have always believed in the power of technology, but only when it is applied well and with purpose, not as an end in itself.

That belief continues to shape how we work today. We focus relentlessly on delivering genuine value for our customers, building long-term partnerships rather than short-term projects. This approach is reflected in our near-100% customer retention rate over 20 years.

Just as importantly, we set out to build a company where talented people can have a thriving career and do their best work. We are proud to be recognised as an exceptional place to work, with Investors in People Gold accreditation, and we believe that putting people first is fundamental to delivering great outcomes for the public sector.

Ellie Huckle

Programme Manager, Central Government, techUK

Ellie joined techUK in March 2018 as a Programme Assistant to the Public Sector team and now works as a Programme Manager for the Central Government Programme.

The programme represents the supplier community of technology products and services in Central Government – in summary working to make Government a more informed buyer, increasing supplier visibility in order to improve their chances of supplying to Government Departments, and fostering better engagement between the public sector and industry. To find out more about what we do, how we do this and how you can get involved – make sure to get in touch!

Prior to joining techUK, Ellie completed Sixth Form in June 2015 and went on to work in Waitrose, moved on swiftly to walking dogs and finally, got an office job working for a small local business in North London, where she lives with her family and their two Bengal cats Kai and Nova.

When she isn’t working Ellie likes to spend time with her family and friends, her cats, and enjoys volunteering for diabetes charities. She has a keen interest in writing, escaping with a good book and expanding her knowledge watching far too many quiz shows!
