About the session

Building on insights from Workshop 1, this session will begin to prototype practical tools to help institutions and researchers handle ambiguous or high-risk scenarios — the “grey areas” where policies overlap but clarity is lacking.

Likely areas of focus include:

  • Scenario-based decision-making and proportionate judgement
  • Discipline-aware guidance kits for complex or high-friction cases
  • Communication tools (e.g. internal escalation templates)
  • Design of triage, referral, or case-flagging pathways

We will prioritise discussion and design where participants see the greatest need. Outputs from this session may include the first version of a decision tree, discipline-specific toolkits, and templates to support research support teams and senior leadership alike.

Please note: themes will be shaped by workshop 1 and may be refined accordingly.
