On Thursday 9 October, 10:00-11:30, techUK is pleased to be hosting the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) for a virtual roundtable on their proposals for TechYouth.
TechYouth is a part of the new TechFirst programme, DSIT's new £187 million investment which seeks to remove skills as a barrier to growth in the digital and technology sector. TechYouth will reach 1 million young people, aged 11-18 with high quality tech skills and career inspiration activities, with key activities being delivered through regionally based partners.
DSIT are currently designing the role of a regional partner and exploring how they can ensure they are able to coordinate and collaborate with local organisations and stakeholders to scale the reach of TechFirst.
DSIT will be sharing their plans and seek input from the tech industry and tech education organisations before beginning formal procurement processes.
