In December 2020 the Government published the long-awaited green paper Transforming Public Procurement, outlining their proposals on shaping the future of public procurement in the UK for many years to come. The Government’s key objectives are to speed up and simplify its procurement processes; to ensure value for the taxpayer, and to encourage innovation and competition by making it easier for SMEs to win Government contracts.

The paper includes a number of consultation questions in order to help the Government develop, implement and monitor the success of the reforms. In order to form our response to the consultation, techUK will be running a series of four roundtables that will look to capture the initial member feedback and response on each chapter of the green paper.

Roundtable 1: Procurement Principles & Procedures

Roundtable 2: The Regulatory Framework & Purchasing Tools

Roundtable 3: Awarding the right supplier & the Review System

Roundtable 4: Transparency & Effective Contract Management

On this roundtable, Awarding the right supplier & the Review System, we will seek member input on the proposals and exam questions on:

  • Chapter 4 (P37-44): Awarding the right contract to the right supplier
  • Chapter 7 (P62-70): Fair and fast challenges to procurement decisions

Please ensure that you have read and familiarised yourself with the chapters before attending this roundtable.

Make sure you book your place now to have your say on shaping the future of public procurement!
