Join us for a 1-hour member briefing on the Transitional Centralised Strategic Network Plan (tCSNP2) Refresh Methodology being consulted on by the National Energy System Operator (NESO). This session will be an opportunity for members to provide input into our submission.

The tCSNP2 Refresh sets out how strategic transmission reinforcements will be identified and prioritised for delivery from 2030 to 2050, forming the technical foundation for the full Centralised Strategic Network Plan (CSNP) and shaping the next stage of the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP).

Why is NESO Consulting on This?

NESO is consulting to:

  • Gather industry input on how network options should be evaluated over the long term.
  • Ensure the methodology reflects regional infrastructure needs, future energy vectors (like hydrogen and storage), and evolving decarbonisation targets.
  • Lay the groundwork for strategic investment decisions that will be funded, regulated, and implemented from the next decade onward.

The consultation represents a pivotal opportunity for the tech and energy sectors to shape how and where major network projects are prioritised, especially those enabling the digital economy, AI, and clean growth.
