On Monday 1 November techUK will kick start its first ever Digital Identity Week! Throughout the week members will have the opportunity to demonstrate the latest, cutting-edge developments in the field of digital identity by participating in events and contributing thought leadership blogs/insights.

Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the ways in which we live and work, driving digital transformation and bringing into sharp relief the need to deliver on the promise of digital identities so its benefits can be felt across society and the economy. Digital identity technologies can help to support contactless interactions and identity authentication post-COVID, further inclusion, tackle fraud, and facilitate more frictionless transactions as services are increasingly provided online and the digitalisation of the economy continues at pace.

Throughout #DigitalIDWeek, techUK will highlight how digital identity technologies are having a transformational impact across five key sectors: Financial services, retail and eCommerce, travel, government and healthcare. In addition, we will examine what more needs to be done to increase adoption of digital identities across different sectors, how regulation is developing in the UK and beyond, and seek to illustrate the key role digital ID can play in the future of the digital economy.

We are currently looking for members interested in providing input around the use of digital identity across the following five sectors:

  • Monday 1 November- Financial Services
  • Tuesday 2 November- Retail and eCommerce
  • Wednesday 3 November - Travel
  • Thursday 4 November- Government
  • Friday 5 November- Healthcare

If you’d like to contribute case studies, blogs or videos as part of techUK’s Digital ID Week, please send across all contributions sent to [email protected] and [email protected] by COP Friday 22 October. Further details on how to contribute can be found here. If you have any further questions on this campaign week, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
