Programme actions

techUK’s data centre programme is policy focused, to reflect the challenges that the sector is facing in the UK. Broadly speaking, this is what we do:

  • We change things that harm the sector (we lobby against inappropriate legislation for instance)
  • We mitigate things we can’t change (we simplify burdensome legislation and argue for proportionate enforcement)
  • We inform and explain (we explain the data centre sector to policy makers and we explain policy to data centre operators)


By doing this we aim to deliver benefits to our members in the following three categories:
