Building on the momentum of Phase 1, this in-person workshop marks the next stage of the NHS England–techUK Technology Blueprint engagement programme, shifting the focus from strategic vision to practical delivery. While Phase 1 explored the “What” and the “Why” of the proposed transition from “Analogue Legacy” to a Digital NHS, Phase 2 is designed to examine the “Where” and the “How”; pressure-testing the technical feasibility of the three strategic shifts against real-world market capabilities.

The session will bring together NHS England TSAS senior leaders and techUK members for a collaborative, workshop-led discussion on the practical realities of implementation. Through facilitated round-table exercises, participants will explore the strengths, constraints, and readiness of current Digital Public Infrastructure, including identity services, data interoperability, and national platforms. A second workshop block will focus on the Digital Operating Model, examining how national standards, policy, and funding align with local delivery, innovation, and community-based care, and how suppliers can navigate a more unified operating environment.

Opening with a keynote from NHS England leadership, the event will revisit the three strategic shifts — Person-Centred Architecture, Digital Public Infrastructure, and the Digital Operating Model — and clearly articulate the key “Analogue Legacy” blockers that must be addressed over the next decade. The structured agenda is designed to surface technical red flags, identify quick wins, and capture market pain points around procurement, integration, and delivery, ensuring that industry insights directly inform the next phase of engagement.

Agenda highlights include:

  • Keynote on the analogue-to-digital trajectory
  • Workshop on digital public infrastructure (“Roads and Rail”)
  • Scenario planning on the digital operating model

This Phase 2 engagement is designed for techUK members, strategic suppliers, and innovators seeking to contribute technical insight, validate delivery models, and support the NHS’s long-term digital transformation through structured, evidence-led collaboration.
