Background

Demand for spectrum for indoor use has increased recently due to a number of factors, including the growing popularity of streaming video and music services, the need for more relaible and effeicient wireless communications.

This trend has been outlined in the recently-published Wireless Infratsructure Strategy, as it stated some of this connectivity needs will need to be provided over the national public mobile networks; while in other case and environments, may be better delivered over WiFi or bespoke private networks.

The increased demand for spectrum from wideband dat system community, as well as other sectors, such as PMSE,  for indoor use is putting a strain on the available spectrum resources.

The session will not explore the latest trends and technologies in indoor connectivity, including the latest advancements in Wi-Fi, cellular, and IoT technologies, but also look into other sectors and applications that require and utilise spectrum indoors.
