Purpose-driven change for a digital society

As an employee-owned B-Corp certified health tech consultancy, I’m really proud to say that Aire Logic’s purpose is to deliver meaningful digital transformation that prioritises societal benefit over profit. Tackling digital poverty and promoting digital inclusion are central to our mission to help ensure technology empowers everyone, particularly those in underserved communities. Our approach, which is grounded in collaboration, transparency and innovation reflects our commitment to creating a more connected and equitable health and care system.

Digital poverty can be classed as limited access to devices, poor connectivity or a lack of digital skills and it disproportionately affects marginalised groups. We address this through purpose-driven initiatives, partnerships and solutions that deliver measurable impact. Our AireTime programme offers every employee who works for Aire Logic 12 days of paid volunteering leave to help those who may be faced with digital poverty, annually driving tangible change. This year alone we contributed 74 people-hours of volunteering impacting over 1,500 individuals. For instance, our Social Value Champion, Tim Knight, supports over-55s at Burmantofts Community Friends with IT skills fostering digital confidence and independence.

Breaking down barriers through community action

Our partnerships with Generation, Northcoders and QA provide pre-employment training placements and apprenticeships in fields like engineering and DevOps targeting those from low social capital backgrounds. Through Growing Talent Digital and 1 Million Mentors we’ve engaged over 700 students across seven schools delivering workshops and mentoring to inspire tech careers. Our work with GirlTechLeeds has reached over 150 young women, encouraging them to pursue digital opportunities. These efforts help to build pathways into tech and break down barriers to entry.

Designing inclusive technology for all

We're passionate about creating digital solutions that truly work for everyone. That means designing with the highest accessibility standards in mind, and always embedding digital ethics and equality, diversity and inclusion principles right from the start. Our approach is all about the person – we co-design services with diverse communities to make sure NHS platforms genuinely meet varied needs, languages, and accessibility requirements. Take our e-consultations and remote monitoring tools, like OnAire and AireConsult for instance. They're designed to reduce physical barriers, making it easier for people facing digital or mobility challenges to access the care they need. We believe technology should always open doors, not close them.

Building a future of digital empowerment

Looking forward we’re expanding access to tech careers through more apprenticeships and mentorships. We want to deepen our community engagement with schools and underrepresented groups so we can enhance inclusive design for public sector services. We’re also investing in unconscious bias training and supporting staff-led cultural events to strengthen our culture at Aire Logic. These initiatives ensure our team reflects the communities we serve - driving authentic impact and helping to tackle issues like digital inclusion.

We believe in making technology work smarter, not harder. That's why we use cloud-first, low-code platforms and data-driven insights to deliver solutions that are both scalable and cost-effective. By optimising data flow and tackling an organisation’s ‘technical debt’, we create single sources of truth that truly empower patients and clinicians. Our impact is clear in national efforts like the NHS vaccination programme, where our work has led to better access and better outcomes for countless people across the country. With over 20 years as a trusted NHS partner, we're committed to building lasting capability and a key part of our business is that we want organisations to confidently achieve digital maturity on their own terms.

What makes Aire Logic unique is our employee-owned model which frees us from shareholder pressures, allowing us to prioritise public value. We’re a Tech for Good business so every project undergoes a ‘tech for good test’ and a dedicated social value lead ensures commitments are met and measured. This blend helps us to deliver sustainable solutions that empowers communities, reduces digital poverty and creates a healthier, more inclusive society.
