Join our Digital Asset Working Group

Interest in Digital Assets and the application of blockchain in FS has been growing for some time, moving from exploration to technological leadership. Recent developments include HM Treasury and the FCA’s work to bring a wide range of crypto asset activities within the Financial Services and Markets Act perimeter through the new crypto asset regime, with rules being finalised ahead of full implementation by end of the year. Alongside this, Bank of England and FCA’s sandboxes and broader initiatives are enabling real-world testing of digital assets with an emphasis on resilience.

In order to help members shape this exciting area, techUK are revamping our Digital Asset and Blockchain working group. This year, we may focus on the deeper and underlying technology and how crypto and blockchain features into the UK’s future tech stack shaping the future of financial services, allowing members to showcase innovative solutions.

Last year, the group chaired by Matt Green, published “techUK’s 2030 Vision: A Roadmap for Building a Digital Assets Economy” outlining how the UK can move beyond adaptation to technological change.
