CCS intends to put in place a framework agreement for the provision of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation services, to support public sector adoption of AI and automation by government departments, in compliance with industry standards and guidelines.

The agreement will cover services such as consultancy, research and support related to AI, augmented decision making, automation, natural language processing, imaging and computer vision.

We were joined by speakers Maija McEvoy, Commercial Lead, Crown Commercial Service, Stefan Janusz, Head of AI Narratives, Office for AI, Elena Hess-Rheingans, Data Ethics and Algorithmic Transparency Lead, Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation and Lara Bird, Policy Advisor, Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation.

Attendees heard an overview of the AI and Automation Framework, the supplier application process, timescales, how the frameework aligns with the National AI Strategy and the ethical principles for data and AI.
