Fraud is now the most commonly experienced crime in the UK, costing over a hundred billion pounds every year, with cyber related fraud making up an increasing proportion of incidents. Last year, 39% of UK businesses identified a cyber breach with phishing (89%) the most likely route used by cyber fraudsters. Individual citizens are also being targeted by ransomware and hackers, with significant real-world impacts, as an average of £1000 per victim was lost from cyber enabled fraud over this festive period alone. Join techUK, the National Economic Crime Centre's Director Adrian Searle and other stakeholders for a lunchtime briefing to discuss how coordination and collaboration across sectors can tackle this growing issue.

  • Following strong promotion of the NCSC's Cyber Aware initiative, what is the Government doing to tackle this growing threat to businesses and citizens alike?
  • In light of the recent launch of the Government's National Cyber Strategy, how should the public and private sector continue to collaborate to achieve the proposed goals by 2025?
  • Will the new strategy signal a step change in the UK's overall response to cyber fraud?
  • How can industry solutions, both technical and people-centric, help mitigate against these fraud threats and raise the bar of cyber awareness?
  • What lessons can be learnt from the NCSC's CiSP platform and other initiatives?
