As part of the growing reliance on an integrated critical national infrastructure to assist us in our daily lives, we need to ensure it is protected, resilient and maintains confidentiality, integrity and availability in routine business. To help consider such issues, techUK has launched a new focus upon National Security. This focus is in tandem with our Defence and Security Board and our own Smart Cities agenda. To help launch this focus, techUK has teamed up with Jacobs Engineering to hold an all-day symposium in Central London on Wednesday 22 February 2023.

Senior Government officials and Commercial customers will attend this day to brief techUK members about what we need to collectively do to remain safe and effective. Speakers from the Regulators, Academia, subject matter experts from the Nuclear, Electricity, Water, Transport, Highways/Rail sectors as well as industry will hold interactive short panels at the event too. The symposium will culminate with an early evening cocktail reception (17:30 - 20:00) so participants and the audience can network together. The full agenda for the day can be found below.

A number of keynote addresses will also take place throughout the day. Including:

Dr Paul Kilworth - Deputy Chief Scientific Advisor for National Security & National Security Innovation Champoin, Cabinet Office.

Christine Maxwell - Director Cyber Defence & Risk, UK Ministry of Defence.

Pete Cooper - Deputy Director, Cyber Defence, Cabinet Office.
