The NHS Genomic Medicine Service would like to invite suppliers to a virtual live event who can provide a web portal for clinical users, providing them the ability to request and manage genomic test requests across the end-to-end order management process.

Suppliers may be aware that the National service is embarking on the Alpha phase in the new year.

As part of the Alpha phase, the service would like to provide a national portal for users who are unable to place requests electronically through their existing systems or are unable to track and provide sample and test status updates through their laboratory systems. As a result, the NHS Genomic Medicine Service is conducting pre-market engagement to learn what capabilities currently exist within industry, prior to a formal opportunity offering.

The two-hour live event held on January 31st (10:00-12:00) will provide suppliers with an overview of:

  1. Details of the Alpha Phase
  2. Walk through of the functional requirements.
  3. Scenario walkthrough

Following the session, suppliers will be provided with a two-week window to respond to the application and confirm their functional capabilities. Successful suppliers will then be invited to register for a face to face 1 hour session to showcase their functionality and walk through the scenario requirement example provided during the live event. In addition, a detailed requirements pack along with the process will be made available following registration. Documentation along with the registration details, will be managed via Tech UK.

Successful applicants will be contacted and provided with an hour slot to meet the panel at Tech UK on the 27th and 28th of February 2024. This supplier engagement session will inform the decision and next steps taken by the NHS Genomic Medicine Service in the procurement of the central portal.
