In this first Data Centre Deep Dive, we will be joined by the Engineering Consultancy firm Arup, who will be discussing the use of heat networks and district heating schemes to offtake heat in urban settings.
Heat networks are growing in abundance in Europe as a way of bring ambient heat from industrial processes to residential and commercial buildings. Data centres are a source of heat with much said about their potential to integrate into the localities they call home.
Alban Leiper, Associate in Urban Energy (Climate and Sustainability Services) at Arup will be leading this one hour session on the challenges and hurdles to establishing a successful heat network system. This will be followed by a Q&A session for those companies in attendance to learn more about what matters to them in the planning process.
