Event round-up: CCS Network Services 3 Radio Capability Industry day

On Friday 24 June we were delighted to host the Crown Commercial Services for a Network Services 3 Radio Capability Industry day.

On Friday 24 June we hosted the Crown Commercial Service for a virtual industry event which was aimed at sharing the latest developments in the Network Services 3 route to market approach.

The event was delivered by Peter Takacs, Procurement Strategy Lead, Crown Commercial Service, alongisde the Ministry of Defence - DSA, as a key tenant customer who will be sharing key themes and approaches. The Radio lot in the Network Services 3 contract will be set up to enable both commercial radio providers and specialised tactical radio providers, therefore all providers were welcome to join the event.

The topics covered during the event were as follows: Timelines - FBC, ATP release and Award, NS3 Objectives, Lot structure design, an overview of the Radio sub-Lot, General and Tactical Radio in one sub-Lot, how "Radio system" is defined, Social Value, and how frameworks work.

Key dates are: the FBC will be published in July 2022, with the ATP release in October 2022, and the NS3 award in April 2023.

The session was followed by a Question and Answer session. Questions were raised around whether the suppliers on the Lot will be both commercial and tactical radio suppliers, SMEs and the potential disadvantages and what CCS is doing to prevent this, and there was discussion around the opportunity for suppliers to form consortiums once on the framework.

Please see below the recording of the event:
