XpanDH is a project being undertaken by our neighbours in the EU in the field of digital health.

The XpanDH programme is building capacity to ensure the widespread adoption of the European Electronic Health Records Exchange Format (EEHRxF) across Europe and to be deployed in the MyHealth@EU cross-border infrastructure under the EHDS regulation. XpanDH is coordinated by Iscte University (Iscte Health) and has a key role on raise awareness about the format and adoption, and demonstrate its feasibility in different use cases.

If the new regulation on the European Health Data Space (EHDS) is adopted, the European EHRxF will be a core element for health data exchange among EU enabling EU citizens to receive best healthcare provision even abroad.

There is also a collaboration with the xShare initiative that envisions ‘everyone can share their health data in the European EHRxF with a click-of-a-button’. XpanDH is collaborating with this initiative in order to support the format, cocreation and specifications.

Hosted by the British Computer Society, and with the support of TechUK Health and Social Care, Professor Henrique Martins (Iscte), the XpanDH Project Co-ordinator, will be revealing what’s going on this exciting area of development, to be followed by a discussion as to the impact for the UK.

This event should be of interest to all those working in digital health in the health and care services and the supplier and academic communities.

There is no charge and a light sandwich lunch will be provided, but spaces are limited and pre-booking is essential.
