This event is open and free for techUK members and public sector.
Cities around the UK are becoming smarter, embedding new technologies that improve the lives of citizens and drive positive outcomes for the environment and economy.
However, as cities become a part of this interconnected cyber-physical infrastructure, new issues and challenges are raised.
The vulnerable action of an individual or organisation can put the entire city at risk. As we move forward in the Industry 4.0 era of greater connectivity between the physical and digital, the threat landscape for cities is widening.
This means that as we enthusiastically embrace smart city technologies, cyber security must also develop in the same direction.
This event intends to unpack how security considerations for cities are evolving, including:
- The emerging threat landscape for cities
- The importance of cross-domain working
- The role of standards and regulation
- The importance of building a secure culture.
We will be joined by local authorities, cybersecurity experts and technology companies. The full agenda and speaker line-up will be published shortly.
This event forms part of the smart cities series of events delivered in partnership between the Smart Infrastructure and Systems and Local Public Services programmes at techUK.
