Understanding patient and clinician needs and designing services with their involvement is key to delivering better outcomes and successful services. In 2020, techUK, NHSX, and NHS Digital came together to create a user-centred Design Working Group with the aim to support the public sector organisations to work together with industry to champion user-centered design, identify good practice and share expertise and knowledge.

For this session, which techUK is hosting as part of the HETT conference, members of the Working Group will look at the place of user-centred design professionals in the digital and informatics workforce, what good user-centred design looks like for health and care, and identify how to help those commissioning digital products become “expert” clients.

Speakers include:

  • Victoria Betton, Director, PeopleDotCom
  • Imogen Levy, Head of Digital and User Centred Design, Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Simon Dixon, User Centred Design, Technology and Assurance, NHSX
  • Dean Vipond, Lead Designer, NHS Digital.
