This is an industry roundtable and networking event with German automotive and technology companies as part a Trade and investment delegation from Thuringia, Germany.

The Thuringian delegation will be led by the Minister for Economy, Science & Digital Society, Wolfgang Tiefensee and coordinated by their business promotion agency LEG Thuringia.  The group visit aims to maintain and generate new strategic connections with businesses in the United Kingdom, focusing on the automotive/new mobility industry and technology. It also includes representatives of the start-up community.

The Thuringian automotive industry boasts a strong and diversified supplier industry located at the centre of Germany. Focus areas are “interiors of the future”, cognitive cars and innovative commercial vehicles. They represent the particular strength in plastics processing/lightweight materials as well as optics and sensors in Thuringia.

This event creates a unique opportunity for discussion and exchanging ideas over potential cooperation on economic and scientific fronts at a roundtable event followed by a networking lunch in London.  The group will consist of fifteen business leaders from Thuringia, the Automotive Industry Association of Thuringia and Universities interested in strategic engagement with similar UK businesses and institutions (click on link above to see profiles of participants).

The  forum will include speakers from the Thuringia automotive cluster as well as SMMT and the Smart Mobility Living Lab presenting on strengths, gaps and opportunities in the supply chain, followed by roundtables and networking.
