With Extended Producer Responsibility rules for packaging coming in next year this joint webinar will examine how companies should interpret the latest guidance from Defra and can practically implement the EPR in a way that is cost effective, practical and compliant. The rules require all importers of packaging (including distributors and online marketplaces) to gather data and take responsibility for the costs of collecting and managing packaging waste.
This webinar will introduce the topic, look through the guidance and highlight areas that require the most work to set up, how data collection and reporting should work and the role of the scheme administrator where appointed. The speakers are Esme Saynor, an environmental lawyer at CMS and Margert Bates, Executive Director at OPRL who have been instrumental at setting this up.
