The second event for techUK Legal Affairs Group in 2022 will focus on some of the proposed regulatory changes that may affect the UK, particularly focussing on the EU’s proposed Artificial Intelligence Regulation (and the UK government’s National AI Strategy).

Jonathan McDonald, partner and head of the data and privacy practice at international law firm Charles Russell Speechlys, will lead a session reviewing the latest developments (including the European Council’s latest draft of the AI Regulation), focussing on key topics, including:

  • How is AI defined?
  • Who will be covered by the new regulation (and how may this affect UK business)?
  • What consideration has been given to privacy issues, including data protection, transparency and algorithmic bias?
  • How may developments impact contract practices and product liability?

The session is intended to be interactive and will include a Q&A session.
