Join us on March 4th from 13:30 to hear from Ruth Jones MP, and leading industry experts how Welsh Compound Semiconductors will be a bedrock for future innovation.

From communication, healthcare, sustainability and entertainment, Semiconductors can transform UK tech, join us to hear what the UK can learn from this cluster's success.

Advancements in AI, Quantum Computing, 5G communication, Electric Vehicles and Gaming technology over the next few decades are impossible without Semiconductor technology. Semiconductor technology is used to form essential components in electronic devices, creating a massive opportunity for growth and innovation in South Wales.

South Wales is home to the world's first Compound Semiconductor cluster, pioneering the UK’s Compound Semiconductor vision. With the National Semiconductor Strategy outlining Compound Semiconductors as one of the UK's three core strengths, and the critical role of semiconductors for UK technology, the South Wales Cluster is a prime model in skills, investment and collaboration. From industries such as decarbonisation, Electric Vehicles, Space and Healthcare, the South Wales cluster has a huge role to play in both UK and global technology ambitions.

Join us alongside those pioneering this sector, like CSA Catapult, Csconnected, MicroLink Devices UK and IQE to hear their world class insights across a fascinating agenda.

This includes:

👉Opening remarks from Ruth Jones MP for Newport West, and Shadow Minister for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

👉What are Compound Semiconductors and why do they matter to the future of UK based industries and sectors?

👉Why has the South Wales Compound Semiconductor sector been so successful, and how do we replicate that success in other regions?

👉What are the challenges and opportunities facing this sector, in achieving the UK’s vision of becoming a semiconductor leader?
