THIS EVENT IS CLOSED FOR REGISTRATION AND EMAIL TO MEMBERS HAVE BEEN SENT FOR INTERVIEW AND ONE TO ONE MEETINGS. Following input from the Financial Services Council, we are hosting a roundtable on green finance on Tuesday 20 July at 11:00. Join us and contribute to the discussion and the activities we will develop this year.
Sustainable finance, or green finance, has been pushed to the forefront of the agenda with G7 leaders and the United Nations discussing the best solutions to achieving net zero targets for the financial industry but also how the sector can help other industries.
The UK government, for example, is considering creating a legal requirement for private UK companies to outline and disclose climate-related risks to their business in line with Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations, with a mandate potentially coming into force next year.
Vast swathes of the UK’s finance industry will be subject to these new requirements, including major pension schemes, life insurance providers and asset managers.
Technology and data management will play a key role in ensuring adequate measures are put in place and for the expected outcomes to be fulfilled.
At this techUK roundtable we will gather members’ input and feedback on some activities techUK can run ahead and on the back of COP 26. Both a paper, with use cases, case studies and recommendations, and an event with key stakeholders, are amongst activities we will aim to deliver this year.
