At the end of 2018, the report ‘System Reboot: Transforming public services through better use of digital’ set out six recommendations for how the Welsh Government could capture the potential of digital tech to improve public service delivery. But beyond the six recommendations was the overarching conclusion of the report, that “Wales needs a new Digital Strategy, a clear Ministerial lead and a Chief Digital Officer with a mandate for change, working across the public services.

We are delighted to host Glyn Jones, the new CDO for the Welsh Government, and his colleagues for this webinar to discuss the digital strategy they are developing. The intention of the strategy is to set out how the use of digital, data and technology will improve the lives of people in Wales. This includes providing modern and efficient public services and stimulating innovation in the economy.

The purpose of this session is to provide them with a platform to articulate their key priorities, share their current thinking and direction of travel with industry, and get feedback from the tech sector.

Attendees will hear from:

  • Glyn Jones, Chief Digital Officer, Welsh Government
  • Sam Hall, Chief Digital Officer, Welsh Local Government
  • Sally Meecham, Interim Chair, Centre for Digital Public Services

Presentations from the three speakers will be followed by a panel Q&A and a chance for industry to provide reflections and feedback on the digital strategy.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand about the future directions for digital public services in Wales, to provide some useful industry input, and find out how you can support their efforts. So book your place now!
