It has almost become a truism to say that awareness of the importance of cyber resilience has never been greater, not least thanks to the rapid digital transformation brought about by the global pandemic, and the high profile SolarWind incident in late 2020. And with that greater awareness, and with work underway to draft a new National Cyber Security Strategy, alongside legislation to mandate Secure by Design principles for consumer IOT products, and the go live date for the new UK Cyber Security Council, we have great opportunities ahead of us to build on the momentum generated and update the UK’s cyber crime laws, fit for the digital age.

If you are already signed up as a supporter to the CyberUp Campaign, you’ll have received our 2020 update that presented highlights of our achievements and progress throughout the year.. but we will also give a short overview as part of the supporters’ update.

Primarily, however, we would like to use the time to brief you on our plans for 2021 and, crucially, set out the opportunities you’ll have throughout the year to become more deeply involved with the work of the CyberUp Campaign. At the same time, we would like to make sure that you get the chance to ask us any questions, or share any thoughts or comments you might have: we know that there is huge interest in reforming the Computer Misuse Act, and we’re very keen to bring in different and new voices as the CyberUp Campaign goes from strength to strength.

We will cover:

  • CyberUp Campaign highlights of 2020
  • 2021 roadmap & planned activities
  • Opportunities for involvement and active support of the CyberUp Campaign
  • Q&A

We look forward to seeing you – on screen – later this month!
