Autonomous Resilient Cyber Defence (ARCD) Industry Day

Autonomous Resilient Cyber Defence (ARCD) Industry Day

As military networks and systems are becoming more complex and interconnected to meet operational demands, it is becoming increasingly difficult for cyber defenders to respond effectively to incidents.  In parallel, aggressors are adopting increasingly sophisticated approaches and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Leaning (ML) approaches to outpace defenders.  Identifying, selecting and carrying out cyber defence responses in a machine relevant timeframe is essential to mitigate these threats.  The use of AI and ML techniques are a critical defence against these attacks; research is needed to develop and mature these techniques for Defence.

ARCD is a 4-year Dstl research programme, delivered as a twin track approach over the next three years through the Serapis framework.  Frazer-Nash is delivering Track 1 exploring concepts for Cyber Defence, QinetiQ are delivering track 2 providing environments to evaluate the concepts to conduct experimentation.  Frazer-Nash and QinetiQ are working collaboratively to achieve 2 research goals:

  • Demonstration of a Cyber Defence Agent under active attack in a representative future military network
  • Build an enduring capability in the UK to develop and apply research on ARCD

The industry day will provide an update of progress since the previous industry days, covering the way in which we will engage with the suppliers and provide an indication of the type of tasking and how industry can be engaged to support the ARCD research.

Delivered as a hybrid session it will provide the opportunity to discuss ARCD face to face while enabling the participation of those that cannot be present on the day.
