The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Broadband and Digital Communication webinar will explore the rollout of public 5G networks across the UK.

3000 base stations have now been upgraded to 5G but the sector still phases a significant challenge in driving coverage out to the majority of the population by 2027. The webinar will focus on the work that has been undertaken during COVID-19, the regulatory and planning barriers that are acting as a drag on the rollout and how mobile connectivity can get the UK moving again. The event will also touch upon initiatives like the Shared Rural Network, and alternative wireless connectivity options such as 4G and Fixed Wireless Access for harder to reach areas.

Speakers:

  • Abel Mayal, Senior Vice president of Technology and Marketing, Airspan

  • Paul Morris, Head of Government Affairs, Vodafone

  • Paul Stonadge, Sales & Commercial Director, Cellnex UK

  • Rhys Enfield, Head of Infrastructure Acceleration, West Midlands 5G

The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Broadband and Digital Communication seeks to further the rollout of broadband in rural and urban areas, and to look at digital communication across the UK. Secretariat is provided by techUK, the trade association that brings together people, companies and organisations to realise the positive outcomes that digital technology can achieve.
