Higher Education Tech Market: Jisc briefing
On the 5 March we were delighted to be joined by Dr Paul Feldman, the Chief Executive of Jisc, for an industry briefing on the higher education tech market. The event explored the role of Jisc, how industry can work alongside them, and wider reflections on the higher education tech market.
The event kicked off with an introduction from Paul on who Jisc are; they are the UK’s digital agency for lifelong learning and research. Their vision is for the UK to become the best place in the world to use technology to learn, teach and research by powering the UK’s Higher and Further education’s teaching, learning and research, inspiring its digital transformation and building solutions that make it happen.
The Higher Education market is complex. Jisc serves over 160 Higher Education companies and the range of HE institutions is immense – from Russell Group universities, through to the non-traditional specialist universities . Solutions to enable the digital transformation of education and research are in high demand, including back-office functions, connectivity, e-learning resources, and data & analytics. Jisc offer advice and guidance to HE institutions to make these solutions a reality – this includes guides, training and consultancy.
Ultimately, it seems that if you want to be part of the Higher Education Tech Market you need to understand Jisc! You can learn more about it on their website here.
