Fostering the ecosystem: Guide for SMEs selling to the Public Sector

techUK today launched its Fostering the ecosystem: Guide for SMEs selling to the Public Sector report.

Jointly written by techUK’s public sector teams this guide aims to provide guidance to SMEs on how to best navigate the public sector market, highlighting the benefits of frameworks, early market engagement, and partnerships between companies of all sizes.

The Government has set a target of spending £1 in every £3 of its procurement budget with SMEs by 2022 and has taken a range of measures to try and achieve this. This target aside, the Government is striving to deliver more value for money while demand for public services rises. During the period of budgetary constraint, the smart application of innovative technology is the only way to do this.

SMEs have a critical role in driving innovation in public services, however, techUK recognises that the public sector procurement environment can seem daunting and it is not always easy to get a foot in the door. With that in mind, techUK hopes that Fostering the ecosystem: a guide for SMEs selling to the Public Sector will provide guidance to current and existing small, and medium-sized suppliers on how to navigate the public sector market.
