Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how organisations innovate, make decisions and deliver services. As AI adoption accelerates, the UK has an opportunity to strengthen productivity, improve public services and drive economic growth.

We work with members across the AI ecosystem, from developers and deployers to infrastructure providers and policymakers. Through initiatives such as the AI Adoption Coalition, we help organisations adopt AI responsibly while strengthening the UK's position as a global leader in AI innovation, development and adoption.

Artificial Intelligence hero
Our take

AI can power growth, productivity and innovation across the UK.

AI offers enormous potential, worth up to £550bn to UK GDP by 2035, to improve productivity, growth and public services. This depends on confidence, skills, governance and access to data and compute resources that underpin adoption.

Through our AI Adoption Coalition and wider AI innovation, policy, assurance and ecosystem activities, we work with industry and government to identify barriers, share best practice and support responsible AI adoption across the economy.

  • Global Context

AI is becoming the defining growth technology of the modern economy. Countries that create the right environment for innovation, data access, compute infrastructure, assurance and adoption will be best placed to realise its benefits, as set out in our AI Opportunities Action Plan response. techUK works with members to support a globally competitive environment for responsible AI innovation and adoption.

  • UK Strategic Impact

The UK has one of the world's leading AI ecosystems: 5,800 AI companies generating £23.9bn in revenue, growing 150 times faster than the wider economy. Maintaining this leadership means giving organisations the confidence to adopt AI responsibly, backed by effective assurance, strong data foundations, compute capability and skills. This work sits within our Artificial Intelligence programme, connecting developers, deployers and policymakers across the UK.
