About this event
Event overview
We invite members, partners and public sector stakeholders to an event reflecting on a year of progress from the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) Working Group. Since its formation, the group has brought together industry, policing, courts, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and victim services to explore how technology can help tackle violence against women and girls and rape and serious sexual offences. This session will showcase what that collaboration has achieved — and where it goes next.
Across all three subgroups, the discussion will address the same core questions: what problems the subgroups set out to solve, what progress has been made, what impact this has had for victims, practitioners and agencies, and what industry, policing, the MoJ and victim services needs to do together over the next 12 months to build on this work.
Benefits and takeaways
The Cross-Sector Collaboration and Integration subgroup has explored why victims must repeat their experiences to multiple agencies when information sits in separate systems. It will share its work on information sharing, interoperability and cross-agency working, and what better integration means for victims and practitioners.
The Prevention, Early Intervention and Identification of Perpetrators subgroup has focused on risk indicators and offending patterns identified too late, once harm has occurred. It will present how data and digital tools can support earlier identification of risk.
The Victim Support and Safeguarding (Tech for Good) subgroup has examined how inconsistent safeguarding and underused technology leave victims unprotected and will showcase how technology can strengthen support across the victim journey.
