Event overview

Following the publication of the Police Reform White Paper, From Local to National: A New Model for Policing, earlier this year, the Government has continued to progress its policing reform agenda.

techUK has been engaging with the Policing Minister Sarah Jones MP, Lord Hogan-Howe's review, and Home Office officials on behalf of members to ensure that the potential of technology, data and industry expertise is recognised as reform is designed and implemented.

This session will serve as an opportunity for techUK members to provide direct feedback to questions presented on behalf of the Policing Minister on what the challenges are for suppliers engaging with policing, and what changes need to happen in the development of the new National Police Service.

Benefits and takeaways

This will help ensure the full range of member views feed into techUK's response to the Policing Minister and Home Secretary, as well as the wider Home Office Reform team.

Who should attend

Discussion questions

To help shape the discussion, members are invited to consider the following in advance of the session:

  • What are the barriers to entry for your organisation in accessing policing, and what should change when engaging with the proposed National Police Service?
  • How can police reform assist in accelerating timelines in policing between proof of concept/value and scaling?

Cannot make the session or want to add further detail? techUK members are also welcome to submit written feedback on the discussion questions above via this form.

If you have any questions about the session or want to know more about how to join techUK, please contact the team below.
