The group is a platform for collaboration, ensuring industry is connected with those across the Home Office, Crown Prosecution Services, Police Digital Service, forces and VAWG Taskforce.
The VAWG and RASSO working groups were first established in January 2023. The VAWG group launched following a kick-off event with Deputy Chief Constable Maggie Blyth announcing policing’s digital strategic intent and the need for a platform for policing and partners to engage with tech suppliers. The RASSO group was established to align and feed into the RASSO Tech Parntership Board.
The strategic decision was made to combine both working groups due to the common challenges across VAWG and RASSO in areas such as prevention, detection and prosecution of offenders.
It has been a real honour to take on the position of Chair for the techUK VAWG/RASSO Working Group. We have members of the group from industry, academia, third sector providers and policing. We are all united by our passion to make effective change in an area which impacts on a huge proportion of the population
