Elected

The Climate Council is currently focused on COP, the sector’s transition to net zero, the role of tech in supporting other sectors in transitioning to net zero and the sector’s preparedness for future climate change.     Anuradha Damale-Day is Space Ecosystem Manager at the Satellite Applications Catapult, as well as a doctoral researcher on the concept of “Responsible Behaviour in Outer Space”. Her role focuses on how to connect up the UK space community to create a space sector that is representative of the breadth and variety of expertise relevant to space across the country, working closely with the clusters to inform space strategy and policy, and support local and regional stakeholders in making a place for their communities in space.

Her experience spans supporting companies with their net zero transition, advising on emerging nature-related frameworks, guiding organisations on biodiversity and ecosystem considerations, and developing holistic sustainability strategies and measurement approaches. Passionate about practical solutions, Paisley brings both technical insight and strategic perspective to advance corporate action on nature and climate.

    Anthony has advanced the climate agenda through his role as CEO and Founder of Circularity First. He has positioned the organisation as a catalyst for Sustainable IT by proving that beyond being the right thing to do for people and the planet, it can also drive business value. Over the past 15 years, Anthony has provided sustainability advice and solutions to thousands of customers, including major organizations such as Verizon, BP, Vodafone, and The MoD. Aligning IT strategies with sustainability goals and showcasing how businesses can achieve their priorities whilst reducing environmental impact. Anthony has been at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that support sustainability principles both internally and for customers: • Circular IT Practices: Circularity First has reduced e-waste and embodied carbon by enabling clients to reuse of over 1 million kilograms of technology, roughly the volume of the Royal Albert Hall • Research on Scope 2 and 3 Emissions: Recognizing that Scope 3 emissions often dominate the carbon footprint of networking and datacenter equipment, Anthony invested in creating market-leading sustainability data, conducting lifecycle analyses to measure embodied carbon and Scope 3 emissions, and providing unprecedented transparency in IT equipment sustainability • Software Development: To ensure clients can easily design sustainable solutions, compare alternatives, and report measurable benefits, Anthony led a team to build a piece of client software that makes sustainability research data accessible and actionable. This tool now helps global technology companies around the world to make better decisions on Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions relating to technology use Recognizing the environmental impact of short IT lifecycles, Anthony initiated projects to extend the life of critical infrastructure: • Defence Sector Contributions: Circularity First’s solutions have saved £15 million for taxpayers by extending the life of equipment used by the UK MoD • Carbon Reduction Achievements: Anthony’s initiatives have significantly reduced embodied carbon emissions across thousands of customers inc. helping COLT reduce their footprint by 2031 tc02e since 2020 • Championing Net Zero Goals: Anthony has championed Circularity First’s ambitious target of achieving Net Zero across all scopes by 2030. The company is on track to meet this goal and has been independently verified by EcoVadis as in the top 1% globally for sustainability practices Anthony has personally worked with the boards of leading technology companies — including Verizon, Logicalis, Gamma, and Agilico — to integrate sustainability into their core strategies. Additionally, he contributes his expertise as part of the UN Global Compact on the Circular Economy, TechUK Climate Council, and the Government Digial Sustainability Alliance (GDSA). As a passionate advocate for sustainable IT, he frequently speaks at global events such as COGx, E-Waste World Conference, and SustainX, sharing insights on how businesses can adopt sustainable IT practices. His efforts have shifted perceptions on remanufactured technology by delivering both better ROI and lower environmental footprint.

    Tim's interest in Sustainability dates back to long before it was mainstream and he is old enough to have called himself an 'Environmentalist' when this description conjured images of tree hugging and demonstrating (done that!), he now brings his personal passion and experience to the workplace for the benefit of Kyndryl and its customers. Prior to working in the Sustainability arena Tim led the Kyndryl Data Centre organisation consisting of over 500 fantastic professionals and an annual budget in excess of $500m. Tim has overseen the drive towards energy efficiency and renewable purchases across the portfolio for over 15 years - the Climate Crisis has made this mainstream and Tim is pleased to continue this work from within the Kyndryl Sustainability Team.

    Daniela Menzky is a serial entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the corporate sector across diverse industries and business models. Daniela held a number of senior Human Resources & Organisational Strategy roles in major blue chip organisations such as Kodak and Avon Cosmetics before moving into General Management as a Managing Director for HAVI Logistics, the world’s largest privately-owned food service logistics company, as well as small & medium size technology enterprises. Following her successful corporate career, she co-founded and scaled several companies across Cybersecurity, IoT Communications, and Climate Mitigation. She is co-ceo of ANGOKA, a cyber security company and co-founder and chair of Climate Essentials, a startup helping organisations reach net zero via their data-driven multi-stakeholder software solution, Climate Essentials.

    Henrik has 20 years’ experience working with SMEs, multi-national corporations, community groups, local authorities, government departments, and EU Secretariats. His work has focused on decarbonisation, nature restoration, ‘green’ skills development, and environmental standards, both as a consultant and by developing tech to automate this work. At Sage, Henrik plays a critical role in developing Sage’s strategies on achieving Net Zero, both as a company and by helping SMEs get to Net Zero. This work includes advocating for policies to support SMEs to get to Net Zero. Most recently, Henrik has been working with the Government and European Commission to quantify the demand from SMEs for finance to decarbonize, and highlighting the barriers associated with this, to encourage development of new policies to unlock financial support.

    Tom Moran is an Amsterdam based Strategist, Consultant, Investor, and Advisor with over 25 years of international experience in the media and technology industries. Working at a range of companies across the US and Europe, from startups to large global enterprises, his prior leadership roles have included technology architecture and design, product management, business development, sales and marketing. He combines his consulting activities with sustainability focused investing, research, writing and mentoring for purpose driven entrepreneurs and impact focused start-ups. Tom a recognised expert in ICT sustainability and a leader of the GeSI Data Centres, Energy and Water Working Group. He also sits on sustainability committees within techUK and the Infrastructure Masons, is a board member and a regular keynote speaker at industry events, and a mentor for the Startup Booster Program at the Amsterdam Institute for Metropolitan Solutions.

She holds degrees in Philosophy from the University of Sheffield, as well as Accounting and Finance from LSE, and has worked in operations and assurance serving electrical and mechanical industries in the UK and Australia. In sustainability, she leads the development, execution and reporting of Pulsant’s sustainability strategy, and engages on the wider systemic challenges around digital infrastructure efficiency and the energy transition. She additionally is a member of TechUK's Data Centre Council.

    Chris is a commercial Energy and Mobility lawyer, with nearly 20 years' experience in the sustainability sphere. With specialist knowledge of battery storage, solar, EV infrastructure and wind, Chris regularly advises funders, asset owners, developers and contractors on renewable energy projects and the trading and procurement of renewable power. From PPAs and optimisation agreements to commercial frameworks for energy and EV developments, Chris has worked on some of the most exciting UK and international energy and mobility developments. He is also a keen advocate for innovation in the energy and mobility space and is passionate about working on new commercial models to drive ever quicker towards Net Zero, from voluntary carbon offset schemes, local energy markets and a host of data-driven flexibility projects. Chris also takes an active role in the development of energy policy, and was a steering group member of the Government's Energy Data Task Force as well as chairing the Electricity Storage Networks Markets and Revenues Group. He was also included in The Lawyer's HOT 100 for his pioneering work in battery storage and EV Charging.

Julia has been working in corporate sustainability for more than 18 years. She has a PhD in chemistry and spent her early career in technology development of hydrogen fuel cells for automotive applications. She is also sits on the Expert Panel of the Faraday Institution, the UK’s independent institute for electrochemical energy storage research, where she is the member leading on battery recycling. Julia wants to see the UK tech industry leading the way solving global sustainability issues through technological advancements, for the benefit of society today and for future generations.
