Education and EdTech Council
Our Education and EdTech Council guides the Education and EdTech programme, which supports the use of technology in education and helps institutions, policymakers and businesses navigate digital transformation. Working with stakeholders across schools, higher education and the wider EdTech ecosystem, the Council sets the programme's strategic direction so that it keeps pace with sector needs and policy developments. It represents the interests of techUK's Education and EdTech members, from established industry players to SMEs and startups, and builds relationships with policymakers, regulators and education leaders. Joining gives members a direct role in a leadership group shaping the future of education technology, both within techUK and across the wider sector.
The Council has 21 elected members, 7 of whose seats are reserved for SMEs, and its members elect the Chair and Vice-Chair from among themselves. It meets four times a year, and meetings are hybrid by default.
Council objectives:
- Shape the strategic direction of our Education and EdTech work.
- Identify priorities and opportunities for the UK education technology sector.
- Bring industry expertise into our policy and engagement activity.
- Support digital transformation across schools, colleges and universities.
- Explore how technology and innovation can help improve educational outcomes.
