Unpacking the NDL #2: Access

The UK Government’s planned National Data Library (NDL) offers a major opportunity to make public sector data more accessible and therefore useful for innovation. What should the tech sector’s role be in order to make the institution as successful as possible? To develop techUK’s position, we are hosting a three-part workshop series on what industry thinks good delivery, access, and deployment of the NDL should look like. Unpacking the NDL #2: Access

About this event

The UK Government’s planned National Data Library (NDL) offers a major opportunity to make public sector data more accessible and therefore useful for innovation. What should the tech sector’s role be in order to make the institution as successful as possible? To develop techUK’s position, we are hosting a three-part workshop series on what industry thinks good delivery, access, and deployment of the NDL should look like. Read more about our “Unpacking the National Data Library” workshops here.

This second workshop will focus on access, on what mapping the legal, technical, and licensing challenges that currently stand in the way of frictionless onboarding could look like. Participants will help define what industry thinks “good access” looks like, with potential grounding in FAIR principles and secure access requirements. Participants will also discuss what content and data would be most useful in the NDL.

The session will be practical and user-focused, designed to capture what requirements industry believes will ensure and effective NDL that delivers value across the innovation ecosystem.

Chatham House rules will apply.

📅 Date and Time: 17 October @ 10:30-12:00 with networking time to follow
