Background

The Single Patient Record (SPR) programme is a major NHS England initiative aligned to the 10-Year Plan, aiming to improve patient care, clinical experience, and system efficiency through a unified digital approach. SPR will fundamentally improve patient and clinical experience, while enhancing the efficiency, quality, and safety of care across England.

This programme requires genuine collaboration with stakeholders across the whole health ecosystem, building end-to-end services on top of a flexible digital infrastructure. As part of this approach, NHS England wishes to shape the SPR openly with suppliers.

At our previous roundtable series in March 2026 we discussed at length how to Transform Services and the approach to Laying the Technical Foundations. These sessions provided us with valuable positive feedback that has informed our approach.

We are keen to continue this engagement, in line with our principles of early, open, and constructive dialogue with the market.

We will be running a second series of in-person roundtables as part of our next phase of engagement. The events will continue to facilitate open discussion, including break-out sessions around key topics.

Roundtable Focus - SPR delivery: from pilot to multi-site adoption (3rd July)

Explore and discuss what it will take to move SPR from early implementation to repeatable, multi-site adoption. This session will seek to understand the practical barriers to scaling across different domains, and what operating and commercial models would best support adoption.

This session is part of a three-day event series across July.

Registration and Participation:

  • Sessions will be in-person, all-day events at the techUK London offices. Exact timings will be provided in invitations.
  • Please register once per supplier to support the rapid selection of attendees.
  • Whilst the website says the event is ‘full’ and ‘waitlist only’, no places have been allocated. Attendance is limited and will be based on relevant expertise and / or capability. Please register for the sessions you think you could provide meaningful contributions to, and we will be in touch to allocate invites.

Unfortunately, not all suppliers can be accommodated at the upcoming roundtable sessions. All applicants will join a waitlist, and those who we believe can contribute most effectively to the discussion will be invited to participate. Additional sessions may be scheduled depending on demand.

We remain committed to openness and transparency. A summary of the key points discussed in each session will be shared, and we will continue to provide regular updates through the NHS England SPR Futures space. There will be additional opportunities to engage with, and shape, the SPR though both formal and informal market engagement in the coming months.
