Every quarter, techUK's Health and Social Care programme brings members and industry leaders together to cut through the noise of a fast-moving policy landscape. This quarter, one development stands out above all others. The new Health Bill represents the most significant restructure of NHS England in years, and we have taken the decision to dedicate the entire session to unpacking its importance and impact.

About the Bill

Introduced in the House of Commons on 14 May 2026, the Health Bill is the government's flagship NHS legislation. It proposes to abolish NHS England and fold its functions into the Department of Health and Social Care, grant the Secretary of State significant new powers to direct NHS organisations, overhaul the patient safety and patient voice landscape, and create a Single Patient Record drawing together data from across health and social care. For the technology sector, the implications are substantial, reaching into data and digital infrastructure, procurement, commissioning and the future role of ICBs.

Speakers

We are pleased to be joined by representatives from the law firm Mills & Reeve, who will examine the legal impact of the Bill, and by representatives from Incisive Health, who will offer the public affairs perspective on its passage through Parliament and what it signals for the sector.

Q&A

Whether you are already tracking the Bill clause by clause or just beginning to consider what it means for your organisation, this session will provide clarity and the opportunity to put your questions directly to our experts. Dedicated time for Q&A will run throughout.

This is a recurring quarterly series. If you'd like to stay informed throughout 2026, you're welcome to register for any or all of the following sessions:
