Battery tech innovator appoints Intralink to accelerate South Korea expansion

British battery technology pioneer Anaphite has appointed international business development consultancy Intralink to strengthen its presence in South Korea – the world’s second-largest producer of electric vehicle (EV) batteries.

Bristol-based Anaphite’s world-leading Dry Coating Precursor – a breakthrough formulation and process for EV battery cathodes – is a next-generation technology in battery manufacturing. Unlike traditional wet coating methods, which are energy-intensive and environmentally taxing, Anaphite’s dry coating approach significantly reduces energy use, lowers manufacturing costs and enables a smaller factory footprint by eliminating solvent evaporation steps.

 

 

South Korea accounts for 35% of the global EV battery market and is home to major industry players including LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and SK On. In appointing Intralink’s Seoul-based team, Anaphite aims to strengthen its presence in the country, deepen its existing relationships and build new commercial partnerships to accelerate the industry-wide shift towards dry electrode coating.

Intralink’s activities on behalf of Anaphite will include conducting an in-depth review of Korea’s battery sector, supporting the company in driving forward its existing relationships in the country and securing meetings with new potential clients or partners.
