FCA opens second cohort applications for AI live testing

The FCA has opened applications for the second cohort for their AI Live Testing service which offers firms the opportunity to test AI systems in live market conditions with regulatory support. Applications are open until 2 March 2026.

AI Live Testing is part of the FCA’s AI Lab and is aimed at firms that are further along in developing AI and are ready to deploy systems with real users. The programme provides a structured environment to test AI in practice, gain clarity on regulatory expectations, and build confidence in live deployment.

Testing will begin in April 2026, with successful applicants notified in mid-March.
