We bring together the cutting-edge capabilities of 15+ world-leading universities and labs in one vibrant ecosystem, representing expertise from across the UK and beyond. We serve industry, academia, and government: supporting collaboration across start-ups, spin-outs, quangos, big corporations, and policymakers. Our platform provides the real-life conditions needed for world-leading research conducted at a scale far beyond what is possible in a single lab.
The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) is the UK government body responsible for intellectual property rights including patents, designs, trade marks and copyright. We grant legal rights to protect innovation and creativity, help shape policy to maintain a strong IP environment that supports investment and economic growth, and help businesses understand, protect and enforce their IP rights.
Digital Catapult is a deep tech innovation organisation. We accelerate the practical application of deep tech innovation to equip the UK to be future ready. As a key area, Digital Catapult is focused on advancing the development and use of data-driven and open future networks in the UK. We’re helping SMEs explore new use cases, access technical expertise, and develop product roadmaps - ensuring UK networks evolve with emerging business needs and stay at the forefront of innovation.
The Federated Telecoms Hubs (or FTH) combine the collective excellence in communications research of 35 leading UK universities and research institutions. It exists to drive cutting-edge research, extensive collaboration, and be a catalyst for telecoms innovation — ensuring the UK harnesses even greater value from its academic distinction.
The federation, which is backed by the Department of Science, Innovation and Technology and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, connects and facilitates collaboration between four unique telecoms research hubs: CHEDDAR, HASC, JOINER and TITAN.
