The Industries of the Future series explores how emerging and enabling technologies are transforming key industries around the world, assessing the challenges and opportunities for UK businesses, and considering what more we can do to accelerate digital transformation so that innovation is applied to the real economy in ways that change lives.

This free webinar will explore the space industry of tomorrow and ask what steps the UK can take to become a superpower across a broad spectrum of emerging and transformative space technologies.

For many industries, from manufacturing to data centres, the realm of space constitutes an entirely new and unexplored domain. Emerging technologies will be critical to realising the opportunities this presents, meaning industry must identify, create, adopt, leverage and scale these effectively.

Taking place during September's Supercharging Innovation campaign week and constituting the launch of techUK's emerging space tech work, the session will convene representatives from the centre of Government, innovation accelerators, the legal and financial professions, and some of the most innovative space companies operating in the UK to tackle this challenge head-on.

Speakers will discuss what industries are likely to move to or form in space (including sustainability, servicing, data, mobility and Earth Observation), what these may look like, what forces may shape them, and what emerging technologies will be critical to their realisation.

With the global space economy projected to grow from an estimated £270 billion in 2019 to £490 billion by 2030, it's more important than ever that UK Government and industry seize the initiative and collaborate on securing a large share of the New Space market.

This is critical, as only through securing its position as an emerging space tech superpower can the UK achieve the Prime Minister's ambition of being a science and technology superpower.
