On 23 February 14:00-15:30, techUK’s Communications Infrastructure Programme will join forces with the Cloud Programme to explore how cloud is key to driving forward increased virtualisation of telecommunications networks and infrastructure in the UK.

If deployed correctly, cloud could drive a series of benefits for the telco industry, from accelerating service deployments and the ability to control and securely deploy applications at scale. Afterall, cloud is an invaluable business enabler that can bring market adaptability and organisation transformation. Cloud native infrastructure will help realise the transformational benefits of next-generation connectivity, like 5G, with applications based on microservices, containers and optimised design. The deployment of open and virtualised radio access networks (RAN) will be enabled by the flexibility and scalability that cloud offers.

This webinar will explore how telco operators can exploit cloud computing to revolutionise their business services. This predominately includes navigating internal infrastructure deployments to help drive forward network virtualisation in the UK.

Specifically, we will address:

  • What are the benefits of cloud native network infrastructure?

  • How to identify new partners that cloud can draw into your ecosystem.

  • Navigating key stakeholders and building collaboration

  • How to build business and technology skills and capabilities to build cloud services

  • Adapting business and operational processes in  to accelerate deployments while reducing overall cost and risks.

Speakers confirmed:

  • Clive Grethe, Global Head of Hybrid Cloud Competence Centre – Telecoms, Media and Technology, Atos
  • Paul Miller, Chief Technology Officer, Wind River
  • Oliver Neuberger, Security Lead - Communications, Media and Technology, Accenture
  • Shadi Razak, Technical Director, CyNation

The webinar will be co-chaired by Laura Foster, Programme Manager for Technology and Innovation, techUK and Sophie James, Programme Manager for Communications Infrastructure and Services, techUK.
