Bio intelligence sits at the intersection of biology, computing, and AI and focuses on how biological systems process information, adapt, and make decisions and how these capabilities can be harnessed, modelled, and integrated into new AI technologies.

Drawing on advances in life sciences, data, and compute, researchers and innovators are exploring bio intelligent systems that complement existing AI innovation to bolster adaptability, efficiency, and learning in AI technologies.

Bio intelligent systems may combine biological and digital components, using feedback, sensing, and control mechanisms to respond to their environment. Emerging approaches — from organoids and cellular computation to DNA-based storage and biologically inspired architectures — point to new ways of processing information that extend beyond the limits of traditional digital computing.

The potential implications are significant for AI, with the potential to make AI technologies more sustainable, resilient, and resource efficient.

This session will :

  • Explore what is happening now in bio intelligence, where real progress is being made, and where key challenges remain.
  • We will hear from researchers and innovators developing these innovations and applications.
  • Discover what bio intelligence could mean for the future of technology, AI, and computing moving forward.

Join us to explore how bio intelligence could shape the next phase of computing and create new routes to value, and whether this field could be strategically important to the UK’s AI leadership.

The format includes a dedicated Q&A segment so you can put your own questions to the experts.
