RAND and techUK are jointly hosting an expert roundtable on AI assurance in critical national infrastructure, bringing together leading voices from industry, government, and the research community. Taking place on 14 May from 15:00 to 17:00 at techUK's offices at 10 St Bride Street, London, the session will provide a focused space for in-depth discussion on the opportunities and challenges of deploying AI responsibly across the UK's most vital systems.

As AI technologies are increasingly integrated into the systems that power our homes, connect our communities, and keep our country running, the question of how we assure their safety, reliability, and accountability has never been more urgent. Failures or vulnerabilities in AI-enabled infrastructure carry significant consequences, making it essential that industry, government, and researchers work together to develop robust frameworks for assurance and oversight.

The roundtable will serve as qualitative research, with the insights gathered directly informing an upcoming paper on AI assurance in critical national infrastructure. Participants will be encouraged to share real-world perspectives, use cases and contribute to a growing evidence base that will help shape responsible AI governance in this space. Following the session, attendees will also be invited to complete a RAND survey to further support forthcoming research in partnership with the AI Security Institute.

Places are limited, and attendance is by expression of interest only. If you would like to participate in this important research effort and help shape the future of AI assurance policy in the UK, please register your interest via the link below before the close of play on Friday 24 April.
