RAND and techUK are jointly hosting an expert roundtable bringing together senior voices from industry, government, and the research community to discuss AI assurance in critical national infrastructure.

The session will provide a focused space for in-depth conversation on the opportunities and challenges of deploying AI responsibly across the UK's most vital systems, from energy and transport to communications and beyond.

Why it matters

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in the infrastructure we all depend on, ensuring its safety, reliability, and accountability is more urgent than ever. Failures or vulnerabilities in AI-enabled infrastructure carry significant consequences, making cross-sector collaboration on assurance frameworks essential.

Research impact

The roundtable will serve as qualitative research, with insights feeding directly into an upcoming RAND paper on AI assurance in critical national infrastructure. Participants will be invited to share real-world perspectives and use cases, contributing to an evidence base that will help shape UK AI governance. Attendees will also be invited to complete a RAND survey supporting forthcoming research in partnership with the AI Security Institute.

How to register
