Transforming Healthcare through Impactful Leadership: Lynette Ousby, CEO, ReStart
Lynette Ousby, CEO of ReStart, is a driving force in the evolution of digital health in the UK. With more than 15 years of experience in the sector, her work has consistently focused on one core objective: making healthcare data more accessible, usable, and impactful. Today, her leadership continues to shape the way the NHS and its communities engage with digital transformation.
Lynette joined ReStart with a clear mission, to overcome the persistent challenges of data fragmentation in healthcare. Her insight into the limitations of traditional software, particularly its failure to deliver meaningful data access for clinicians, led to a renewed focus on interoperability and usability. Under her leadership, ReStart has emerged as a pioneer in health data integration, helping healthcare professionals make better decisions with clearer, more connected data.
One of her most notable achievements at ReStart has been championing the IMX platform, an innovative system that tracks hundreds of data points, identifies issues in real-time, and ensures data security and availability at the point of care. This platform not only supports clinicians but also enables critical research efforts by improving data accessibility. Through these advances, Lynette has solidified ReStart’s reputation as a leader in digital health infrastructure.
Beyond technology, Lynette’s leadership is rooted in collaboration and culture. She works closely with ReStart’s technical teams, who manage complex data migrations and interoperability projects across the NHS. Thanks to this approach, ReStart now supports over 53% of NHS Trusts, a testament to the effectiveness of her team-focused, mission-driven leadership.
But Lynette’s influence extends well beyond the healthcare system. Deeply connected to her hometown of Burnley, she is committed to community engagement. Through a partnership with “Burnley FC in the Community,” she supports initiatives ranging from education in under-resourced schools to local food banks and dementia care services. ReStart employees are encouraged to volunteer with these programs, building stronger community ties and fostering a spirit of giving back.
Lynette also plays a hands-on role in encouraging the next generation of innovators. She actively participates in STEM education initiatives, including school visits where she introduces students to the world of digital health and the opportunities it offers. Her outreach not only informs but inspires, ensuring the future of health tech includes diverse voices and fresh perspectives.
At the heart of Lynette Ousby’s work is a vision for a healthcare system that is not only more connected and efficient, but more compassionate. By improving how data is used, championing innovation, and investing in people, both within the NHS and the broader community, she is leaving a legacy of meaningful, lasting impact.
